Kunstenares en ME-patiënt Ilse Sjouke maakt kunst vanuit bed. Haar kleurrijke spielerei-serie behandelt thema’s die het leven met ME raken: behoefte aan natuur, hoop en dromen, veerkracht, ziek-zijn & identiteit, en bovenstaand werk: moederschap.
“Als moeder met ME heb ik nooit echt de moeder kunnen zijn die ik wilde zijn. Vooral de jongste (een nakomertje) kent mij alleen maar als de moeder die (heel) ziek is. Dit lied draag ik daarom speciaal op aan haar, en aan alle andere moeders met ME (en vaders, maar ik ben nou eenmaal een moeder).
Het originele lied heet ‘Space oddity – David Bowie’ Ik heb de tekst herschreven om het verhaal van mijn dochter en mij te kunnen vertellen.
